Asia’s economies markets have the future. Currently China is the world’s fourth biggest economy. In Asia, in particular in India and China, an annual real GDP growth of more than 5 % is expected till 2020. A number that is noticeably larger than the OECD’s GDP growth rate . Which entrepreneur wouldn’t like to enjoy the boom of this region and to develop his own business according to his interests?

From German entrepreneur’s point of view, China is the second most important target after the EU 15 states for foreign direct investments (FDI).
In the years 1995 – 2004 German companies invested about 8.5 billions Euro in China, but represented only 2.5 percent of the total investments into China . The entry of China to the WTO and economic reforms in India strongly supported this trend.

Doing business successful in Asia is a complex challenge for Western companies. For example, dealing with local authorities, the selection of the right location or the search for suitable business partners and potential employees are challenges. The way Asia’s markets function is completely different to the market rules in the industrialized countries of the western hemisphere. The transparency of the markets in Asia is often low.
